i like to think that godmasters ending is cannon because its sets up conflict , as the normal true ending ends conflict. There are actually 2 variations of the godmaster ending one where the shadelord escapes , and one where the delicate flower makes it dissapear. I would suspect this an elude to how the shadelord can be defeated, this new kingdom could also be the far off land the great knight zemer comes from and where the flower might be. Also i dont think the void has mind. if you beat every statue in the hall of gods on the highest difficulty you get a statue of the shade lord that says "void given focus" it actualy DID say "void given mind" at first but they intentionaly changed it in a patch to fit the former description, i also dont think the cliffhanger with hornet and the hollow knight from the egg will go unresolved , i dont think team cherry will do that.I susspect every ending at some point in silksong can be cannon by some sequence of events (except for the one hornet gets locked in the egg lol) even if it is out of the way. They also developed godmaster and the ending while makeing silksong so they probably had the game in mind while makeing it.
You make good points, though I'd rather have Hallownest's story finishing on a conflict ending rather than starting a new one. It lessens the burden on Hornet's shoulder when she gets to travel (forcefully or not) to another kingdom.
As for the delicate flower, maybe, maybe not. Team Cherry did say they didn't think of an over-complicated plot when making the first game. If teasing was done about Silksong, it would be in the backstory of Hornet, her mother Herrah and the Weaver tribe.
Well i dont know the purpose of godmaster then, why would they set up more conflict just for it to be meaningless? i honestly think it would be valueable for the hollow knight from the black egg to go through a character arc at some point to defeat shadelord. also , because of Steel soul jhins dioluge about "the masters" and appearance similar to new enemies and assasins of sharpes gang, they could be related to the void. Also the delacite flower could be near the top of this new world and "the masters" have sent these assasins to stop hornet from getting to the scource of the delicate flower to defeat the shadelord that has been summoned. It has also been theroised that they will tie in almost all of the endings to silksong in some way or another so who knows.
It seems to me the developers completely departed from Hallownest to set a new story, rather than to tie loose ends.
then why is hollow knight still in the title if it has nothing to do with the hollow knight, game could have just been called silksong
It's just a brand. The same can be said of Shovel Knight, being on the title of each of its campaigns.Yet the second campaign has only him as cameo and a surprise boss. The third campaign doesn't feature him at all.
Another example: F.E.A.R. 2 and 3 hardly feature the F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) squad. Etc...

so Yes while i agree probably 80% of the game will be fresh new stuff , i still belive team chery will resolve important plot connections and details from the first game. Theres also still that option mossbag mentioned where theres a way to extend off diffrent endings from the first into the second game kinda like witcher 2 ->witcher 3

Maybe don't read it? It's not like we're lashing at each other.
My point being, that team of 3 developers don't really care about making a complex lore. From an AMA (or maybe an interview?) , they claim the first game had no lore, except tidbits easy to understand. If that's their way of making games, I wouldn't expect too much links between both games. Even back when Hornet's campaign was still announced as a DLC, it was supposed to tell a story unconnected to the Hollow Knight.
I do hope for returning traveling characters though. Iselda, Cornifer, maybe Bretta, the Grimm Troupe and the Godseeker. Maybe not Zote because he seems to be satisfied with whatever he thinks to have accomplished. I also doubt Hornet would have much patience with him. :D
EDIT: As for Steel Soul Jinn, he may be linked to Steel Assassin Sharpe, who has a companion with similar design. That's as far I can tell about her. They may not even be from that new kingdom in Silksong nor Hallownest.

also Lore may have not been thier intention at THAT time of makieing the game, but whos to say it isnt now, a community they interact with alot , along with they themselfs have fleshed out?
yes there will be new characters , and mabye completely new ideas and concepts that will be completely irrelivant to the first game.
all im saying is , is that they developed godmasters ending and lore surronding it for a reason as true for probably alot of important lore areas like the path of pain.
otherwise why would they EXTREMELY SPECEFICALY change the shadelords end statue after completely completeing the hall of gods from "void given mind" to "void given focus" in a patch? if they werent concerned about lore they wouldnt need to do that no?
i belive the the new concepts in silksong can also connect to the old ones in some way sometimes, it will help for a grand world building you actually feel like you are makeing a change in by helping the bugs and its people.
