Team Cherry wouldn't be that stupid.
Considering the first game isn't even on Epic Store, Team Cherry would have no demographic there. It's a sequel after all, so largely only the previous players shall return to play the new game. But considering they already played Hollow Knight, they already have another platform or launcher to play it on.
Even if Hollow Knight were to release on Epic Store just now, people wouldn't have time to finish it 100% in time, nor even have a reason to buy it. It has been on Steam for over three years now, so there's no reason to suddenly just now pick it up.
Also a game just released are never present in the free Epic Game's games.
For folks would simply flock that one launcher for the game, and then ignore the game on any other platforms.
Thus considering them a fatal failure in terms of income and success.
Games are only present on there after being out for a while.
Wouldn't be a far stretch to assume.
I have heard publishers are not consulted prior to having their game put up for free but epic pays them for the copies they give away. Wish there was a bit more transparency on the subject.
(i need to start taking my/other's advice so I can stop being hypocritical.)

So long far, 3 of the games on this list were true. The rest might be true as well, but we'll see.
Wow, they are giving away games for free with dozens at a time now? Seems like they are in a desperate position. I remember nearly a year ago, how numerous EGS shills were arrogantly broadcasting that Valve with it's big sales is killing indie sector... Well, if THAT was killing indie, how in such case throwing games away for free helps it, lol?
