The bossfights will definitely be faster since Hornet also has faster abilities and healing.

Hopefully not.

Difficulty is not what matters at all.
I'd prefer it if the devs focus on making them fun to fight instead.

Hornet operates at a faster pace and has fewer recovery frames, so it's a given that boss fights are going to be more challenging in Silksong compared to Hollow Knight - that's simply just the nature of the game's design.

If a game mechanic by default makes things harder, then it's a bad game mechanic.

That isn't to say the above is correct though, as it's not. Obviously enemies can be balanced around said faster pace and fewer recovery frames. If the game IS harder it's most likely because the devs are ♥♥♥♥♥, not because of the general game design.

I'll agree that a faster character doesn't necessarily mean faster pace or higher difficulty...

But claiming making harder gameplay means the developer is bad is a sign of ignorance.

i also dont feel hollow knight needs to press any further into soulslike territory. i feel like the learning curve and final difficulty in the final dlc are close to perfect. almost everyone can beat the base game, the majority can beat the true ending and few really want to put up with all the content. and thats how it should be imo. if you make the base game as hard as the hardcore crowd could handle, thats going to push away players. and i say that as sb who enjoys playing soulslikes. but whats for me is not for everybody.

The point of souls games is the world and the combat, the difficulty is a detail that makes things feel more.. real I quess. But DS2 and DS3 misunderstood the concept. DS3 just cared about DS1 fans and DS2 drops 50 enemies at once and an electric mage guy. Also Saying that a hard game is pushing away players is true, and kinda ironic considering a ton of players started with DS3.

They should just follow the same pattern they used in the original. Make bosses that are fair and difficult and add optional modes that ramp up the difficulty in some way like the dream variants and godhome.

As long they don't put Dream Warriors style bosses, i'm fine with whatever they decides to do.

Dream warriors were just poorly executed. Here is a list on how to improve most dream bosses.
Xero: Interesting attack variety once he reaches second phase
Markoth: Not a bad fight on its own, but has some significant problemss There are a few big and a lot of small. Jut fix 'em
Gorb: You need to completely rework him if you want him to be a good boss.
Edit: Actually he is perfect and the best boss in the game. Also harder than NKG
Galien: Make him float higher. Give different ways the main scythe/bouncing killing thing can hit you instead of bounce bounce. Sometimes Galien will try to dash towards you or temporarily summon a mini scythe (those white blades in the battle). Later on in the battle Galien will throw projectiles at you and be more agressive (the scythe won't though).
Elder Hu: More interesting attacks. Sideways laser and more patterns to the yellow smashy things. Also he teleports less. The battle is faster in general.
I actually dont remember anyone else, they are forgettable fights.

Most ghosts including dream warriors are backer tier rewards. Those people could create their own character who we can see in the game.
Dream warriors exists thanks to some highier tier backers, and they are designed to give player some challange, bigger or samller but not overwhelm with difficulty, like also give more purpose and context to lore, essence, dream nail, and dreams in general.
For me they serve their purpose well, and there isn't any problem with them.

I think this time in Silksong we won't have any object that would work similar to dream nail, and I'm not sure that we will see any ghosts in the game. Dreams and essence were part of Hollow Knight, and I got a feeling that TC will not multiply this concept to second game, but maybe give us some new themes and object connected to them.
I'm glad that dream warriors exists. It's better to have some additional content that make to the game instead of none.

In terms of bosses and their difficulties we will see :). They will be certainly more rewarding when we will fight them in Pharloom, than fighting them over and over in some sort of Godhome if there will be any.
