Long or difficult? Half of the bosses are completely optional before the game's ending.
If nothing else, I think it's safe to assume that it will at least be about the same size, content-wise. (And who knows, maybe Silksong will also get its own post-launch content packs. The follow-up video to the trailer made it sound like a possibility, to me.)
if you want short games, go and play those early access games which get to 80% of the time never done :o
+ am pretty sure you going to buy the sequel if you liked hollow knight. even if those reviews wont say "its shorter" xD
I guess it's a matter of perspective. To me, Hollow Knight had enough variety in its environment and enemies to not feel repetitive.
It can take way less given you know how to play the game. My first play-through was around 30 hours and my second and steel soul one was a bit less than 10 hours.
But I don't care. I love the series, and a longer game wouldn't be problem.
My only wish is that the overall lenght is also balanced around Hornet's mobility, like events requiring alternate movement schemes and such, or just world navigation being feel-good and dynamic.
The viability of facetank builds isn't a problem with the game length and the boss design. Generally those builds are only used by trash players, bosses are pretty varied if you play properly instead of trying to cheese everything.
Really looking forward to the HK sequel!
I think you can take any game series of the 90s for that comparison.
