Parry attacks?

It looks like the character is parrying an attack? Does anyone know if the devs have mentioned anything about defensive play styles in the new game? Hollow Knight had a parry feature too but it was basically impossible to use and only seemed to work randomly.

I may be overthinking it, but if it was well implemented such a feature would instantly make the new game vastly more fun for me then the original.

Agreed! A properly implemented parry mechanic would make the game SOOOO much better.

It looks like Hornet is going to have most or all of her abilities from when you fought her in Hollow Knight.

Yep hope so too; it's one of few things I wished was better in Hollow Knight

yep, hornet already had this skill in her bossfight.

Agreed. That is something that Team Cherry should work on.

Parrying should at least be as reliable as it was in Sekiro.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has a cooldown or uses the silksong version of soul. Unless they changed it dramatically from she used it in hollow knight.

I wouldn't be surprised either. Team Cherry has a problem with the way they implement crucial mechanics.
They do really good with world building and atmosphere, not gameplay and gameplay progression. :/

I disagree with you last section. I thought the compass was a smart idea. Just because you dislike it doesn't mean its a problem.

TC shouldn't be overcomplicating quality of life features for the sake of world building.
That's just annoying.

While I understand being frustrated with the map mechanics in hollow knight one charm notch isn't a big loss while you are exploring.

Are you kidding ? Gameplay was amazing...the movement and boss fights feel amazing and versatile once you gain most of the abilities + experience...no real flaws I could find in how the game plays ...not to mention how you can tackle certain bosses and explore maps in the absolute wrong order and still keep it flawing

This is in the actual trailer and I don't think that it's a parry. It looks more like a block to me. Probably something you can unlock late-game since it wasn't available at the start of the demo. Nail upgrade/art, perhaps?
