Gold Streaks

So, I'm stuck on getting the 10 consecutive gold streaks. In one game I have gotten as many as 15 individual streaks, however, only ever gotten 9 "consecutive" ones. What exactly constitutes a gold streak? What breaks one? I have my boost upgraded twice and don't always have luck using them. Any tips to help get me past this challenge so I can continue in the game. (I've been using Roger if that makes some difference)
