Frankly, they are probably not worth the trouble to domesticate let alone train as pets. Battle-bears can be fun, but as pack animals they lose out to both cows and asses. There's something to be said of their value as animals for trading or even livestock for their pelts/trophies, but realistically you could do the same with many of the more traditional livestock options at a fraction of the hassle. Regardless, there is definitely a prestige to having at least one or two in your castle somewhere.
You have nothing to complain or rage quit about.
Grow tf up,
I trained two bears, a male and a female, to go a little faster I reloaded each time my best character in training failed...
At max level, I find it a bit exaggerated to see that the training fails... especially when we calculate that it's on average 1 chance out of 4 AT MAXIMUM LEVEL of the skill...
And that if your character tests training on a slope, there's almost a 90% chance that it will fail...
In short, I managed to have two bears, a female and a male... they struggle to reproduce....
In 4 years, only 1 baby bear... While they have a very large area, and all the food, meat and animal food available...
And now I'm also angry, because my male bear has just died... at 5 years and 30 days...
the next day, a wild bear reappears on the map... he is 8 years and 47 days old....
Nonsense is a serious disease brain of the human...
Correct all that for me, so that we can appreciate it, because it is easier in real life to train a bear than in this game....
However, a game (hence the word "game") is supposed to be entertaining...
The speed at which time passes, and the life span of animals is sometimes really stupid, there is a lot to say about certain management and mechanics of this game... And since it is in beta testing, this is where we are most legitimate to complain...
I do not tolerate idiots who portray the opposite, because because of them too many games come out before their release, and sometimes are not even finished when the creators have made enough money (this is not the case for the creators of this game, and I hope they will go all the way in taking into account the rage and the inconvenience encountered in this game from certain players, especially those who are involved and engaged )
you know you can edit the files (there's prob workshop mods also)
time ie days length can be tweaked
you can edit animals life .. although it might be short so if they become bugged they die it fixes itself and new spawn in kinda a inbuilt protection
almost forgot animal json file you find deer.. find bear and copy / paste the deer taming time success rate on to bears and then find chickens and copy the kid rate
there's a bit more to it but thats the gist of it (never ever mess with the animal cap)
devs encourage file diving is it there fault you dont use it <shrug>

I'll take note, and thank you for that, the possibility of personalizing this part, which certainly solves certain problems, I was unaware of this option.
