Settlers dive under the wall
I built a wall that goes over the river.
Of course the water continues to flow under the wall, I don't want to interrupt the flow.
Now my settlers simply duck under the wall and don't use the intended routes.
Does this also mean that the enemy will simply duck under the wall?
So how can a river flow through a settlement without the enemy diving through? Is there a trick?
That's an interesting point... Not yet sure, if it really doesn't interrupt the flow of the water, but you could try to build a metal bar door in the water, like this:

If you lock it, neither foes nor your settlers should be able to pass through.
Got to do a few more tests to find out wether it blocks the water or not, though.
Good news... metal bar doors don't block the water flow ;)

Thank you very much for the suggested solution.
Then I will install these metal gates there as soon as I have researched them.
I was just very surprised that knights with armor can dive and come back up again.
I think in real life these would be fish food.
