Butcher
Hello Guys im completly new to this game. I play LoneWolf and placed at the beginning of the game a Butcher Station Outside. Now im in the middle of the Winter and i have killed an animal for food. Now i have the problem i cant butch it. At the beginning in the Game it was working fine but now its impossible to make it work again... it is maybe a problem to set it outside during winter because of snow? The Animal is also selected i dont know what to do??

so by your screenshot, a problem is that,
you didn't took the animal body into your any "stockpile". (or said "Storage yard"?)
The game doesn't assume you own it.

You should assign a task on the butcher table.
For me, I set the task of butcher table to "always", then it will keep butch all the animals as I stored.

as mentioned set the table to always

another factor may be your settler
in jobs if all the tasks are set to lets say 3 the settler will go thru all the jobs from one side to the other and there's alot of jobs (i forget which direction) so its important to set cooking to 1 so the settler knows this task is important and you can change it back after and get them to concentrate on another job (basically you'll be juggling)

as you progress thru the seasons the settler can be overloaded as you chop trees / mine and grow crops they need hauling and the settler gets bogged down in tasks

you can also re package the butchers table and move it to your kitchen if you click the item there's a icon you click a settler dismantles it and clicking on the now boxed item you can move it to the desired location to be blunt outside raiders can and will attack it (unless your on peaceful mode and raiders are turned off by default in that mode)

lone wolf as a first try though you set yourself a challenge :)
sometimes youll encounter a bug in game save exit and rebooting the game fixes the bug

Yeah i know Rimworld and it looks and feels a lot the same. But i have still problems with the Butcher. One time he did his job now it seems to stop again... for me it feels like a bug. I will try this with restart. Ty

EDIT:
Or maybe a Mod make this "bug"(?) i use:

Settler Appearance
Advanced terraforming
Animal Diet
Weapon/Shield Enabler & Overhaul
Repair Mastery
High Roofs
Decorative Plants

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Deezy, here are a couple New Player NOTES & TIPS from my 1,500 hours playing GM -
1. Micro-Manage all Gardening, and Crafting. To make game more enjoyable.
2. Use SHELVES for STOCKPILE HELP. They create a 3 Tile Tall storage spot in a 1 Tile space, and help with slowing foods dissing to Rot.
3. Manage by making 1 Shelf, then Manage it's Ingredients & Priority to a minimum of HIGH, and Copy that shelf to create more holding the same items.
4. Some Crafting can be used to Dismantle Armor & Weapons that do not meet your wants. (I set Dismantling HP to 50% for All Clothing, Armor & Weapons. Then ADD another of the Same Dismantle Function to the Craft Stations, and set QUALITY Slider up to Superior so it Automatically includes all better Quality items, up to Flawless.
Hope you enjoy Going Medieval as much as I do too. There are many Tutorials in Game, and on YouTube that can help more.
