Prisoner Stash Management
This structure kinda sucks but I need it to create a prison cell. It's not well thought out, I am forced to put entire stacks of food in it, yet the conditions of a prison cell cause the food to rot, wasting my resources. What do I do to prevent this but still make sure my prisoners don't starve?

We could just have whoever's on prison duty drop single meals in prisoner cells instead like in Rimworld since that means the meal stays in a temperature controlled environment until it's actually needed.

You're wrong about how well thought out it is. I can use them in regular rooms, and the Great Hall to stash food I want my characters to have. With Very High Priority, and selected items for them to hold. In Prison Cells I set it to Lavish Meals, Pies, and other GOOD Stimulants. Also, EDIT your Meals Management in the Management tab, to what you want them to eat, that keeps Moods up.

This doesn't adress the rotting issue from stashing entire stacks of food in single non climate controlled room because you cannot assign a maximum stack value.

I'm not sure what meals you're creating, but Packaged Meals will last the best in sub-optimal temperature conditions.

There's not really a great method for preventing food rot in these situations. I'd recommend you just over-produce vegetables so you can safely ignore the food waste due to a constant surplus.

My prison cells are located underground, and since i dont care bout prisoners mood they gettin only raw vegetables to eat.
Honestly, I'mma p.o.s to my prisoners. Geneva convention or what ya makall it would have a fit. I keep it somewhat chill in the prisoners cells as much as possible without freezing the room. I aim for 5-12 C's. I don't really care if a little rots, I just don't want it rotting in batches.

You can also set a cook station to only prep one type of meal and have only that meal stored on the prisoner stash. Limits how much will be stored that on the cook stations end. So you can set 6 meals and often 3 prisoners will go through 3 - 6 meals a day. Prepped meals last way longer than the raw stuff. That's what I do if I can't control the temperature in the room at the time. If it's really bad i'll shove a few ice blocks down and that'll buy a smidge of time. Not much though.

Drowning them is also a valid tactic >: ]

How many prisoners do you have and are you using a stack size increase mod?

By default there should only be 10 meals on there at a time. At >6c / >42f I was still getting 8 days on stew and 5 days for >12c / >57f. This should be plenty of time to clear majority of the food out without much loss especially if you have more then one prisoner.

However, if you are running stack size mods that affects the prison stash as well so that could definitely be the possible problem.
