Can you eat enemy corpses?
Please no judgement it's been a long winter.

There is an option to change the type of food each villager consumes. It is under the 'Manage' tab. I have not set them to cannibal yet but the option is there. We did offer sanctuary to a cannibal and he helped himself to some corpse on his own, though I had him set to meals only upon arrival. The heart wants what the heart wants.

Yes you can, instructions are above. If its a 'last choice' to eat them, do so instead of starving, otherwise you get a huge negative bonus for eating the meat.

Yep. Also get a lot of leather from them so you can forget about ever growing flax.

Yup, made out 2 days in winter and 2 in spring from their meat, it was rotting on the waste stockpile too before I realized there is always cannibalism.Always check your food supply before taking in extra villagers.

So... If you have sufficient food, you take the pawn in, and if you are low on food, you take take pawn in?

Never had a villager die on me yet, so I was munching on the enemy corpses before. But yeah, you can always eat your own dead villagers I guess, not sure if there is a different debuff for eating your villager friend.

Well, new villagers are usually followed by enemies, so that is a plus, you may even keep the new villager.

Don't forget the mood penalties for cannibalism. Penalties apply to those who butcher a human, those who cook the meat, and those eating the cooked meat. Maybe you could get a good cook with the appropriate trait to eliminate the first two and negate the third. One of my people ate a chunk of roasted human meat and liked the quality so much that it was a net win.
