Dyes, paints and Colorings
Would be nice if we could *custom color* the clothing, walls, carpets, roofs, floors, etc

Medieval natural sources of color:

red - madder root, Rubia tinetorum, kermes or grana from insects
blue - woad leaves, Isatia tinctoria
violet - orchil from lichen
crimson - brasilwood from the East India tree
purple - brasilwood from the East India tree
yellow - weld, dyers' rocket, turmeric, saffron, onion skin, marigold, chamomile
green - indigo, weld, turmeric
brown - walnut shells, bark

Some of those, such as crimson and purple from Brasilwood, might come only from traders and be quite expensive.

Others made from lichen, woad, bark, flowers could either spawn spontaneously, or be a crop that had multiple uses -- food, teas that warm up cold villagers in winter, help ward off exhaustion or disease, as well as coloration, or bive a very broief (3-hour?) buff to mood.

+1 to the suggestion and also +1 for putting the research into realistic colours and thought into how it might actually work.

Nice point. I also love a bit more colorful buildings and other stuff like clothings. It would be very cool when you can create armor with your coad of arms on it or shields.
