Why always starving??

Why are my settlers always starving? They have ridiculous amounts of food that they all have access to, ample time to eat multiple times per day... every time they wake up (and sometimes even during the middle of the night) it will say "settlers starving!"

I don't think the people who made this game know what actual starvation is. The human body cannot go from full belly to starving in 10 hours!

If they're eating preserved foods like smoked meat and pickled veg, then the reason they're starving is because a normal meal gives 95 nutrition and the preserved foods only give 30. Essentially, they're not getting full enough.

Different kind of smoked meat here mate. Your thinking like BBQ smoked meat, that is not preserving the meat in any way. What the game is talking about is making jerky or dried smoked sausage type of thing, while certainly tasty you wouldn't be too happy if all you had to eat for a meal was jerky.

facts. replacing the word, "starving" with, "hungry" would be appropriate.

I mean you might be happy while you ate it but a few hours later when you get horrendous diarrhea since all you are eating is protein I don't think you would be all that happy. And the nutrition? You would likely begin suffering severe malnutrition and begin starving within a few weeks of only eating jerky due to lack of nutrients...

About the starving. It's a game, a month has 30 days and a season roughly 90, yet a season has 12 days here. You have to accept that there is some level game elements. The only thing that starvation has that is wrong is that they will not go to eat at a table when they reach that threshold.

As for smoked meat, it's not a meal, meals are considered cooked, smoked meat and pickled vegetables are considered raw, they are just better preserved as far the game is concerned. Yes, it is dumb but it works that way.

As for your cook getting stuck not cooking, try turn off the game and start it again.

On the plus side, they don't go on a genocidal rampage if they don't have a table to eat at. I guess eating without a table doesn't become a war crime until we can travel in space.
