im running it on a 1080ti and my rig is basically on fire. I shelved the game till they finish it and hopefully optimise everything.
my cooling system ect is fine so Im assuming its jst early access issues

reducing your map size may help. I usually play on the smallest map size. I don't expect my base to take up that much space

May I suggest that you turn the v-sync off? If the performance is not improved. try to cap framerate to 60/30. All these things can be done via Options > Graphics settings.
My CPU is also reaching dangerous hot levels and this is the only game that has managed to do that. 97C at highest, no other game has managed to get past 82C before

Try the suggested things above and let me know if it (and what) worked. Thanks

It did drop like 5-10 degrees and it happened fast

Thanks, keeping it at 30fps and V-sync off might keep this issue in control.

Cities: Skylines and Transport Fever manage to model 100,000+ citizens without my CPU even reaching past mid 40°C. With thousands of user placed assets, pathing and economy decisions to be made.
This game crawls my PC to a stutter late game with two dozen settlers and a few buildings, with a few fixed asset styles. There is something seriously wrong with the game engine optimisation.

Hey I played today again and the temps went to 98 at highest which is in my opinion dangerous for a PC. I tried other things you suggested and still the temperature would go to 98 at times. I think this situation should be checked by devs as no other game has managed to get this high temps and even CPU stressing programs (for example CPU-Z) can't get past 82.
It has potential to damage a CPU at 98 celsius. I personally can not keep playing when there's a chance my CPU gets damaged.

Kid welcome to early access. Transport Fever and Skylines are WELL out of that state of development.

Nobody else has this issue. I wonder why.

Before this last update I had no hiccups but now I have hiccups every 3-4 seconds when time is set to 3 (fastest). My rig is water cooled and set to go to full fan throttle at 50 Celsius, and it has mostly stayed at full throttle after this last update. I assume we had an optimization issue in the update.

Wise choice tbh!

I found out when I turned off shadows the game worked much, much better but became drop dead ugly.

As I see this is a recurring issue with many different high end rigs on here I chalk it up to early access.

Playing on my friends machine and she has a relatively new gf 65 thin msi gaming laptop with a 1660ti that runs her fully expanded Sims butter smooth.
