Personally, I don't mind not having ETAs as long as I know SOME progress is continually being made. That's the entire point of the Monday talks. They're just keeping people informed of a few of the things they're working on and getting feedback as they go. Don't expect every post they make to be a big update.
They have said before that they work on several things at once rather than just focusing on one point on the roadmap at a time. At least, that was my understanding from their response here. They also go off the roadmap sometimes. Water was not on the original roadmap, but was added by player request.
There was a road map check list of features planned (and those implemented checked off) on the store page but all the store pages seem to have been updated within the last two weeks and that image for Going Medieval doesn't seem to be on there any more.
It would be nice for it to come back and/or a thread associated with it in the forum so its easy to refer back to.
Dates are a troublesome thing to commit to, especially when designing something. Can you imagine what would happen if a game development company stated a date for something and then later said they needed more time to finish it? I realise the internet is a generally reasonable, rational place, but there would be a slight chance that some people might go off the rails a bit. Not saying its ever happened or anything... just that it might ;)
It would be nice. though, in said thread with the road map to maybe mention the items you are currently working towards/getting closer to. So I partially agree with you there, those playing the game are investors in this game and so have a vested interest in it making progress.
I don't know if it is maybe a translation error or just a poorly worded sentence but I am going to assume you meant some other than actually suggesting that there are no upfront costs, time or money, associated with game development.
I would say some abuse the system, but I do not think this game is one of them. They have been steadily picking away at their stated game mechanics (again, I realise the road map is currently missing but it was there three weeks ago because I looked it up to point another towards it in another thread). The devs have also changed/implemented game mechanics based directly on community feedback.
Dates would be magical but as I said, they are very problematic so you won't ever see them for pretty much any game until they are pretty ready to release. Also I assume you've seen some of the results when half-baked things get pushed to release to hit an arbitrary date set months in advance.
But its a lot easier and the devs are a lot more receptive to feedback when you can give them something tangible to work with than just a frustration vent.
shutup u needy little girl
Can you describe where? I used to be able to find it on the store page but I don’t see it anymore.
Brilliant, thanks. I also realised and I think it was mentioned above, but once you launch the game its on the start page to.
