It's not like skills , I'm not really sure what benefits there is in a promotion , there are only three levels for each role type. I, II, III.

I think the benefit of promotion is that they are supposed to provide better services. At least in the pop up window I get more 'Feast points' if there is Bard III instead of my Bard I.
Makes sense , I'm declining to do any of that stuff , really don't like the negatives adopting a role gives to a settler , level III I think makes them dislike using weapons , I need my killing machines to be happy about that :) My settlers are already happy enough in a comfy bed . I think it would be better if the events had fixed dates in the calendar , like xmas , or samhain, and failing to have them gave a negative buff, then there would be some pressure on using the system.
