Yeah, it'll need to be addressed before I pick the game back up again. Removal of player agency is not ideal and makes the game less for it IMO.
Got 600 hours in so in reality I can't complain, it was a fun ride while it lasted.
I know in time there will be guides created by fanatic fans that give us a way to know what to do, but why make it harder to create your favorite premade characters?
Exactly. All other villagers will be random as that's how the game works. The starting few you should be able to setup as you see fit - which can be completely random or made for a specific task - players choice.
