Trebuchet defense?

Any tip in defending against trebuchet? I went from a tall tower to an underground bunker to avoid the damages, but to my surprise the trebuchet still hits the facilities 3 layers under the ground...

There is an option to disable trebuchets outside of sieges, and avoiding sieges should be pretty reliably accomplished by leaving some kilns or iceboxes outside.

And if you really hate them, just go to game install, streaming assets, trebuchet and change resource spawn amounts to 1, they won't have ammo to shoot then.

Or just disable trebuchets in your game options?

Thanks for all the input guys. I don't really want to disable trebuchets as they are fun and provide some challenge. I was just looking for some tips on how to defend against them because their attacks pierce through mountains. LOL
