Currant Bushes Dying
My red currant bushes are dying in the winter now, this never used to happen. It isn't even a cold snap. With how long it takes for them to produce, this renders them pretty much useless. Anyone else having this problem? Was this intentional or a bug?

I think they should survive in regular winter, but cold snaps will kill everything, no? Was it during a cold snap, did you perhaps miss one starting?

It depends on temperature, but berry bushes have always died off in the coldest days of winter, over the entire time I have been playing the game. Wild ones may regrow over time, and farmed ones can be replanted in the spring.

I think they are suppose to die after the berries have been harvested 3 times.

No, there was no cold snap. And It was only -5. I've had cold snaps go REALLY low and not lost my currant bushes. This is definitely new.

You can keep them alive in a room with heating and some of those roofs that leaves sunlight through. They will very very likely be stunted, but you can at least use their berries to plant new ones come spring.

Red currants are indeed very difficulet to cultivate. The bushes die after a short amount of time, and the currants themselves rot quickly, making it hard to keep some in stock to replant.

Personally I don't bother with them anymore and farm apples instead. They can replace red currants in all relevant recipies, they rot considerably more slowly and the trees can be easily replanted with stored saplings which rot very slowly and can't accidently be eaten.
