Are there any iron nuggets on the surface, those can indicate an iron seam.

If you have clay you can bake bricks and fortify to use invaders as a source of iron.

Marsh is low on most mineral resources. It is one of the challenges of this map type. You should be able to find small amounts (look around carefully on the surface for surface nuggets or changes in the ground color that indicate a different material. But for long term, you will have to rely on trading with visiting traders, sending caravans to other villages, or recycling junk dropped by raiders.
