Restricted areas near map border
Why is there a 16 tile wide area near the map border, where we cannot mine ressources? My current map has a significant amount of important ressouces in this area and it's driving me mad that I cannot get them.

Is there a way to remove this limitation or at least reduce the zone to fewer tiles?

Thanks.

Guess its so that raiders don't spawn right in the settlememnt or players being able to cheese the spawn areas, but thats just speculation really.

And afaik there is no way to reduce that.

When the game first entered early access there was no restricted zone. Players used to cheese the invaders by digging trenches all around the map so that they had no place to spawn. This was before traders were added to the game so there was no reason to allow any outsiders into the settlement. So the devs added the restricted zone in a later patch.

So no real technical reason. They should at least allow us to remove the restricted area, though... if someone wants to cheese their own game by digging trenches around the map instead of simply disabling invaders, who cares?

I bet there are a lot more players who would apreciate being able to get the ressources at the edges than players doing ridiculous stuff there, that doesn't hurt anyone.

compromise solution: make it so that no mining materials spawn and no building can take place in the restricted zone.

it triggers me greatly when theres valuable resources outside my mining range. i can cut trees but cant mine >_>

Wouldn't be hard to make it so that you can mind anything but dirt or water in the zone. So that you can get rocky soil-or-better from the border zone.

I would love the restriction to be removed it that's a possibility. It is quite annoying to not be able to modify that border, and if anyone wants to try and bug the raiders instead of just playing on peacefull, that's their problem. Just my opinion tho.

Another option is to spawn raiders in anyway, with portable ladders.

I've never tried Peaceful mode, maybe they could remove the border from there?
My guess is that Wildlife also need a spawn point, Trader visiting etc. and hence why it's there in the firstplace.
