Why aren't my goat pens working?

I've had two attempts at creating a goat pen following the guidance provided in xxxx video.

But despite following his advice exactly when I try and rope a goat I keep getting a message that there are 'No Animal Pens Available/ and to be fair neither of the enclosures came up with the 'Animal Pen' dialogue box asking what animals I want to keep in the enclosure.

Has anyone any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I do not see any pen marker inside of your goat pens. You have to build the pen marker also.

You need to put a pen marker post in each area you want to use as a pen. You can find the pen marker blueprint in the 'misc' section of buildable objects. It's the same area where you find fences, gates and such.

That's because I've never seen a 'Pen Marker' in my game, and I literally just found a video that mentioned the need for one. So, it's probably the cause of the problem.

Question is where the hell have they hidden it?

That was the problem. As soon as I put a Pen Marker in the pen it registered it as an animal pen.
