Damn, devs got busy since I last stopped by.

Anyone know if they increased the max pop count at all?

the highest I've ever gotten historically is 26, that's without any modding, but that was also a while back before they started aging etc

Don't chests fit very small quantities of clothes and coins though? Specifically with clothes 2, and with coins I've found they only fit less than 20, or is it me not knowing how to use them?

Also, it would be nice if we could stack chests in shelves.

a chest can hold 2000 coins, wich is 2 stacks on a normal storage area (1 stack has at max 1000 coins).
And yes 2 pieces of clothing or armor, wich makes the chest double effective then a storage area tile

Please don't hate me, as I'm an editor by profession and genuinely trying to help.

A chest can hold 2000 coins, which fills 2 stacks in a normal storage area (1 stack holds a maximum of 1000 coins).
And yes, 2 pieces of clothing or armor, which makes the chest twice as effective as a storage area tile.

P.S. The English language is rather stupid, as it breaks its own rules all the time.
