♥♥♥♥♥♥ villagers keep walling themselves in
is there a way to stop builders from just walling themselves in? some algorythim that makes them take into account position of blocks so they dont end up building themselves little cells to die in?

Not really they also manage to mine away stuff around them till they stand on a pillar they can't leave.
Best way to deal with it is to build (well or mine) so that you leave 1 field they can exit throug, wait till nobody is in there and then build (or mine) the last field.

Have you ran into the issue of your settlers dropping down a level while building, essentially trapping themselves (somehow) under the floor because of the 1 random missing tile under the floor?

they favour a side to build from it used to be simple thing of building 2 squares and seeing which side they did last and did they get stuck....now though each ones different
youll have one that insists on going into a hole /wrong side to destroy /build but another settler will do what you ask from safety

they really like corners they feel safe there or roleplaying as statues i refer to them as a lois everyone has one you save constantly :P

I ironically had a settler that would VERY frequently trap herself....needless to say she got fed to the wolves and I've not had that problem with anyone since XD

Or... Game devs fix AI to reserve the buildings in the pathway of a character? TO include a path in and out to the next task in a short cue?

I've seen mods do similar things with other games.. Please just fix?

I have lots of soil so I thought I would start filling in my mining holes on the map. But they seem to always break ladders or stairs from the bottom and then cant get out. Is it even possible to fill them back up in this game yet? Or is the AI still not there for that too?

Lol, ithis one can be frustrating but the work around is to always build or mine in layers and or, always leave your settlers an escape route. My lot get themselves caught in some funky ass places, lol. Sometimes I don't find out until the upset settlers notice pops up. Oh and animals, they do it too.

ya its another anoying problem.

i mean miing and building is a MAJOR part of the game, one would think that making this work smoothly would be the first thing you do, yet pathfinding is a constant problem in the game, i really dont care if they simmulate water and other stuff before getting the basics right
