Caravan Food?

Hello. I recently looked to send a caravan and it said I needed 700 food? Seriously? Seems like a whole lot of food for one trip. Is that actual number of food items (like 700 packaged meals?) Or is it the total nutrition needed, or something else I am not getting/understanding? Thanks!

It is the total nutrition value needed. Try adding a packaged meal and you should see 90/700, add a second one and you'll see 180/700. You can add different meals for different values adding up to 700.

Another tip for caravan : the journey is longer in winter (so more food needed), you might want to wait for a warmer season.
