Best room impressiveness : Palatial
Hello,
While tinkering around my base I learned that it's possible to make a room better than Luxurious.
It's called Palatial.
You get better mood bonus than luxurious as it should be :

Bedroom
Palatial : +12
Luxurious : +8
Superior : +6

Shared Bedroom
Palatial : +6
Luxurious : +4
Superior : +3

Temple :
Palatial : +7
Luxuruious : +5
Superior : +4

Great hall
Palatial : +10
Luxurious : +6

That's a total of +10 mood bonus from luxurious to palatial.

You can make a single bedroom palatial with an interior size of 19x2, royal bed (linen), 18 golden chest and 38 religious wall decoration. You could also make the room longer instead so it require less golden chest, or swap the wall decoration with mirror or other crafted decoration, or add rugs.

The trick to get the best impresiveness is to NOT make your room really big, but instead making sure that as many tiles as possible are covered by a wall decoration. I used golden chest to add a lot of value to the room but Mirror, rug, and other crafted wall decoration can be used instead (they take a long time to make and you need high quality so you need skilled worker ... so I avoid using them).

Also, don't place any furniture if they aren't very good furniture. They reduce the space of your room and the aesthetic & value they bring don't always compare to the lost space.

With larger room it's best to have single wall placed in the middle of them so you can add 4 wall decoration on it. While you do lose one space, you still make the room better overall. Also, if done right you can avoid using Arch if you walls are close enough.

Nice! :D
Google Translation:
It would be great to add information at what values of "general wealth" and "aesthetic value" one or another state of "luxury" of the room is achieved.

An example of palatial room :
Space =41
Wealth = 6254
Aesthetic = 47.5

It's probably best to tinker a bit with the space you have though.
It seems that "palatial" is already an excessive level of luxury.
I only reached the "Luxurious" level of luxury in the "Great Hall" and both chapels, and for the first time I got "Merry" from a settler who has only one "favorite" (1 star) activity. Even though he sleeps in a "shared bedroom" (bonus +2) and wears "Superior" clothes.
If he is also given a private bedroom, he can have "Merry" even with small fines.

I have the theory that storing gold coins inside a chest in a room increases its wealth so golden chest + coins for increased efficiency

Just yesterday, after arranging the base, and before starting construction, each individual task asked the question: “what is the best way to do it? How to equip it to get the best bonuses?”
Your topic came at just the right time for me)
I didn’t understand a little from the description above, as for carpets and mirrors - in my description there is no aesthetic value, I decided that they do not add value and these items are purely decorative. Is there any information on what aesthetic values high quality carpets and mirrors provide??

I wonder what I'm doing wrong (or if the game has changed) but I can't seem to get Palatial.

All my rooms are palatial on the hardest difficulty. Just spam decorations, art, rugs, and gold chests. The Oak Brethren/Church wall decorations alone have 40 aesthetic value and only cost 20 wood

Every wall should be covered except where you have beams. Just doing the religious decorations and rugs take you to luxurious, and adding gold chests takes you to palatial. Use mirrors and art if you have good craftsmen and want to reduce the number of gold chests needed.

one of the essentials for "palatial" is the amount of "free" space ("spaciousness")... these are tiles where you can have a carpet or, for example, decoration on the wall, but not necessarily a bed, a chest, a fireplace, a wardrobe...
from what I've tried, it should be 15 tiles (but maybe it's a percentage of the total room size). Average aest. for palatial you will need somewhere between 60-65, total wealth approximately 3000. And there is probably also a requirement for the overall size of the room.
...there is definitely no need to put gold chests everywhere in the room (the 18 gold chests mentioned in the first post are definitely not needed). Wall decorations, paintings and rugs (of good quality!) are perhaps better than chests because they don't take up a lot of space and add aesthetics too.

I've made bedrooms palatial with only 5 gold chests, and I'm pretty sure I could reduce it if I put more wall relief art, paintings and mirrors, perhaps even to zero. But it takes much longer to create high quality art instead of spamming 30+ oak bethren decorations in 20 seconds.

Religious decorations and gold chests are the most time efficient way to get to palatial. Art is the most material efficient way, but takes much much longer.
