Settlers don't respect leisure and sleep schedule
Hi!!

My settlers sometimos don't respect leisure and sleep schedule, some of them keep working and later get KO because they are exhausted... What can I do to force them keep the schedule? (I gave them 4h leisure time and 7h to sleep.

Thank you so much!!

Same problem, guess its a bug. What I do is cancel the job the settler is doing, they usually stop and go eat and sleep.

People will start new tasks right up to the last second of their scheduled work hours. If the task takes a very long time (for example, actions that require travelling far away, or cooking is a prime offender, for some reason), they will keep working on the task even past their scheduled break times. I think they don't check whether it's outside of working hours until they finish and are ready to pick their next task. I haven't found a good fix for this other than keeping an eye out for people working overtime and manually resetting them by drafting/undrafting.

Select the settler, and in their info panel there is a cancel action button.

The most effective solution that I have found is to ensure that there is always a Do Anything and a Leisure slot after work and before bedtime.
Sometimes even this is not enough, then manual drafting and releasing is the micromanagement solution.

Yea its always funny to find the "Hard working go getter" who are working 2 hours past bed time and send them to bed. Always keep an eye out around bedtime (reason I stopped staggering their work schedules into a 24 hour group, harder to manage). Always keep an eye out for that idle message, because some dipstick will get stuck in a wall or mining pit because they blocked themselves in and are waiting to starve to death. I put down a pet rat last night (tamed by accident) because it kept getting stuck in fortifications and blocking building progress which required destroying several walls/stairs or building access ramps and platforms to get it out so building could continue. About the third time it happened, it went to the meat pile.

Pretty sure that Rat was an enemy sabateur.

I just set them to have an hour of leisure right before bed time, so they're less likely to be stuck on a long job and get tired. Worst case, they don't get to play some backgammon.

I like to give them at least 2 different 2 hour break periods or they tend to get pissy when raiders attack during their break time or they get stuck somewhere.

+1 to the 1 hour of leisure before bed time. After work I schedule them with 1 hour of do anything and then 1 hour of leisure. For the most part, this works.

Despite this some settlers still get stuck doing things. If that happens and the exhausted warning pops up I usually just cancel their current action and then they go to eat and then go to bed.

Also, some settlers require special schedules. I have one that was always tired and never went to bed. Now they got to sleep twice a day and I haven't gotten a exhausted prompt from that settler again. Their sleep stat gets to about 75% max and goes down to 25% using the split schedule.

My current village has 13 settlers at the moment. 4 of them are on "night shift" where they sleep during the day and work at night with the rest on a normal work day and sleep nights.

They are Happy with 1h of leisure time? I gave them 4h and some of them ussually get "privy of leisure time" (Idk the name in english, I play spanish versión)

Frankly it doesn't matter what sort of schedule you give them they do what they want. My settlers have 8 hours of sleep and the rest of the day to do what they want. There are always some who refuse to sleep and then ♥♥♥♥♥ about it all day. The fact is that the scheduling is terrible and just doesn't work.

the only way i've found to force them is to draft and undraft...that seems to reset them to the right schedule. Around bed time, i just see who isn't complying and do the draft/undraft to send them to bed. It is tedious though....

I had raiders show up a half hour before bed in my last play session. That was right annoying.

Also couldn't figure out how to get someone to close the door I had set to "leave open" so that folks could run through into the castle I was constructing without having to slow down, so, told everyone to defend that point.

Invaders showed up, found an empty village square, and just sort of ... stood around doing nothing while my two archers took pot-shots at them through the open door. A few of the invaders wandered around at a slow walk, unsure what to do. One even decided to take an axe to one of the walls of my library before giving up after a single strike, and returned to aimless, confused, meandering.

Wasn't until Leroy* rushed outside to smack one of the invaders with his hatchet did the invaders notice the open door and the four other villagers inside with weapons raised.

The aftermath of two unconscious villagers and the other 3 injured and exhausted resulted in a lot of construction delays.

*I really should rename this villager...if I can...
