Hello, i store some food in basement. Some of them rotten and i don't know how to get them off the shelves. This take up unnecessary space.

Products stored in the basement are supposed to never rot, remove the floor to make it colder. As for your question I can't help unfortunately. When i had similar issue I just manually made my settlers eat all the rotten food:lunar2019grinningpig: , but I had a small amount, and you've got it all over the place

1. dissallow them in your normal storage
2. set up a garbage area outside and allow "waste" there

As soon as there is enough hauling capacity the rotten stuff will be hauled outside to the garbage area (don't give it any floor or roof) and will just rot away into nothingness.

As stated in another post, make up a caravan with rotten food (works for ash also) and before caravan leaves disable or cancel it. Rotten food is now out of the shelves.

Do the settlers idle in between? Is there free capacity to haul that stuff?

Not sure what changed, I have a 3 deep basement storage room surrounded by clay at 45 degrees and all of a sudden food started rotting at a crazy rate. Had not had any issues for years but it just started happening. To make it worse the villagers will not haul away any of the rot despite their being plenty of high priority dump piles. They will also will not pull anything in from the field so I am pretty much at a stopping point.

All right, that looks like the work of Grandfather Nurgle if I ever saw one. Make sure to take shower at least once a week and get your monkeypox vaccine IMMEDIATELY!

Cook the food to get it off the shelf. You need a dumping waste zone for rotten meat vegetable bones and ash. Put one next to your kitchen outside. High Priority, and you need to keep your hauling up
