i just found this post in another thread saying that if the animal feed is on a stock pile it won't be fed to the animals:
As for this though, where do I store it if not on storage piles? Some are on shelves too so I'm not sure what to do about that exactly :c
Only way I found is to prioritize releasing it, wait for the settler to leash him and take him outside, then cancel the operation and then cancel releasing the dog.
Kinda crappy but it works.
As said in the original post, I entirely rid everyone's tasks! Everyone was idle with prio 1 on animal handling and nothing. Priority on the troughs was highest, and I had tons of food for them.
I've seen other people talk about it so it likely is a bug that'll be fixed in the future! For now I've just made it so my fodder is on the ground inside without it being on a pile (allocated a pile for just fodder then got rid of the pile).
Unless they're pets instead of docile, the only way I've found is by hunting something near it. It'll then run over and eat the corpse
they are tamed but NOT trained. and they decide to wander off to the fartherest corners of the map instead of being in the settlement which is annoying. i am trying to train them and hope if they dont die first then once assigned to a settler they will be closer to bones etc and will actually eat.
