Suddenly Can't Cook Meals
I'm into Summer of my first year, and my hearth is set to maintain a set amount of cooked meals. I have over one thousand fuel, and over 600 raw food. It just suddenly started saying "production idle" indefinitely.

I check the allowed ingredients, and everything is fine there. I've tried pausing and resuming recipes, but no luck. Telling my cooks to prioritize production (via manually right clicking the structure) and having it as their only allowed job makes them ignore it.

Has anybody else had this issue? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? It was working fine and I hadn't touched the queue at all since building it (just set it to maintain x amount of meals).

If anybody could point me in the right direction on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated, ty :)

Is there any other job in that cooking station? Because if there is and that can't be finished (due to lack of ressources for example), it can block other orders.

Check if the ingredients / material are accessible to the settlers, as well as the cooking station

Besides that, did you try to save and reload and did the behaviour persist?

Did you try to clean all orders and set it anew?

Did you try to build another cooking station and order food there?

Building a new one was the only thing which worked. And yes, I tried all the other things you mentioned. Strange occurrence, I'm not entirely sure what could've caused it to happen.

Went a few days and it's back how it was >.> idk why it's doing this. All of the queues are idling, all of them have the resources available, there's way more than enough fuel, but it just won't let me use it. Again, forcing a cook to prioritize production on it makes them stop the task they are doing for a second before going back to what they were doing as if there was no production set. I *really* don't want to have to keep dismantling and rebuilding the thing just to keep my food being produced.

Suppose this needs moved over to the bug forums instead, as this really is looking like a bug and not me doing something wrong at this point. Basically: they hit the amount I had it set to maintain, stopped production, and then refused to go back to it even when the storage goes to 0/25.

The only way I have found to get around this is to rebuild the thing (I tried both the relocate and straight up destroying it and building from new, both with same results), but this is only a temporary measure as like I said; the problem comes back as soon as they hit the maintain goal.

If that happens and then razing the old one and building a new one makes it work again that sounds actually buggy, since that makes it obvious that the old one SHOULD have worked too (given there wasnt a job blocking it and it was accesible, wich you say you checked for).
So yes would put a thread into the bug-section.

Right now to me it seems that the game seems to behave somewhat strangely after playing the same game for a longer time. I had sometimes Settlers / Animals behave weird sometimes when a game had progressed for some ingame-years.
Its happening since the animal update, was worse first but it seems to be still there and I have the suspicion (not sure, since well I have no real idea of programming), that the game after a while is a bit... "overworked" handling all the animals on top of the stuff it already had to handle prior to the update so to speak, if that makes sense.

Had this issue as well on my games, on my current one it keeps happening to my carpenter. Only way to resolve is to rebuild the desks. Also sometimes even the button from selecting a settler and trying to manually assign the "produce" task disappears, so the only option is the dismantling button.

I'm finding that dismantling seems to mess it up the most.

Yea, I made a second post in the actual bug posting sub forum about this. Would be nice if I could archive my own thread and link to the other one lol. Here's the new one: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1029780/discussions/1/3418810706123797519/
