How to make settlers haul more efficiently?
I noticed my settlers take way too much time hauling stuff around and after following them for a bit it seems they haul at almost "1 stick at a time" rate and I can't figure out a way to make them haul more efficiently.

UI says they can haul 60 kg and if you have a single pile below this threshold, settler has no problem hauling it in one go. But if there's several small piles (say 3) on an adjacent tiles (ideal scenario), settler suddenly starts ignoring some piles even when he has only 10/60kg filled.

So what it is? Inefficient hauling algorithm? Some hidden parameter ("volume" or smth) besides weight that limits hauling or I'm just doing something wrong?

I remember having a similar problem in Rimworld, but i used a mod that not only made pops actually try to fill out their inventory (up to weight limit), but also allowed to haul different items at once. This mod drastically improved haul efficiency.

The overall decision-making process for the settlers is the THE BIGGEST FAIL of this simulation....whether it's constructing, working a station, hauling, or whatever! Miners stop mining a string to go across the settlement to start mining a one-off plot, or settlers pick up 2 seeds to plant 5 spaces and go out of their way to pick them up from the furthest point possible rather than from the 6 sitting on the ground right next to the free sowing spaces.
But then of course there are the WORST of the lot:
1) I'm just gonna stop what I'm doin' here and trot on over to help Marcus with his planting by "relocating" a bushel, and then maybe I'll go back to work...unless in the time it took me to do that, I've grown hungry, thirsty, or otherwise cantankerous...OR NOW INSTEAD,
2) I'm just gonna fill up every possible craft-/food-/workstation that *might* need resources even though I am not at all tasked with those details, nor even hauling.

Hmmmm....

60kg = 132.277lbs I have been super frustrated with this just did a post, actually, about this (points over there near the map edge), So she only carries 10kg at a time, or 22.0462lbs for a tall, slender woman carrying that much across several tiles. I do not know what one tile is vs. Miles, but irl this, woman would be a star weightlifter, lol.
