Ladders? Spiral staircases? Yes please?
So, doing a bit of digging, it seems like there used to be ladders. They got removed due to mean-AF bugs. I can respect that.

But, the more I play & build, the more I think "I could really use ladders, they were real things that were far more common than stairs in the historical era under question".

In the same vein, spiral stair cases that are, say, 2x2, vice the 1x3 of a regular staircase (stackable would be amazing) would be great for building curtain walls.

even spiral staircases that are 4x4 would be great for towers and stuff

I would take that & run with it. As long as they were stackable, anyways.

I would love a spiral staircase. At the moment I create my own so a lot of my rooms are double height. On the plus side, double height rooms look nice and trebuchet shots on the roof don't damage the furniture/stations inside.

Stairs work 2x3 already...

2x4, since you need to add a landing (at least, I've never had it work to skimp on the landings), but your point that it's already a smaller footprint, if manually built, remains valid.

You can enclose it fully...
...and build it to height limit.

Ladders, draw-bridges, portcullis, spiral staircases, dirt have been requested multiple times. The developers are busy implementing annoying and tedious mechanics no-one wanted or requested like settler ageing, blight and seeds.

I love the aging mechanic and the seeds are great.

...and if blight got automatic cut priority it would be great too.

FYI you can disable almost anything you don't like quite simply in the json files.

Absolutely, but I want an actual spiral staircase that I can just drop on the map. As a QoL improvement somewhere down the line. Same for ladders.

i would like to have ladders back, so i can use them for towers and mines. Having to many stairs for mines gets annoying

If this game had Steam workshop support and developed an active modding community (like Rimworld) it would elevate this game an amazing amount; and ladders would be one of the first mods made I'm sure.

Just a reminder there is a suggestion sub forum

Suggest reposting this idea there

I'm guessing they're avoiding that until they've got the game to a more "finished" point. Right now, mods would make it harder to determine the cause of problems reported by players. As well as mods breaking every time they put out an update that changes underlying elements of how the game works.
