Roads | How to build Paths, required Technology, Settler travel Speed
This is a guide on building Roads in Going Medieval which covers Settler Paths, Travel Speed, required Technology and necessary Workbenches and Resources.

I will show you how to create effective roads which will speed up your settlers and their jobs like hauling, harvesting and other tasks. Most important game mechanic which I will explain is the highest maximum traversal speed of settlers over roads made from different materials.

Things you missed out:

- traversal speed is decreased to 70% on tiles with items dropped on them, no matter what the underlying surface is. So make sure you don't have major roads directly adjacent to overflowing stockpiles or workbenches
- traversal speed of steps isn't effected by their material type, nor the tile type upon which they're built(if any).

Interesting quirks related to paths:
- when alternative paths exist, settlers don't always take the faster route.
- if you instruct your settlers to mine a natural block that's beneath another natural block, then prior to the block being mined, place a path tile on the ceiling of that block, your settlers will be able to walk through solid rock 🤪

This is the first time I hear of such a thing. YouTube doesn't start apps or hardware on devices it plays on.

Hmmm...well if it wasn't Steam, it was something attached to it or the video. I got a notification from my internet security on starting the video that it wanted to use my camera, and that's using the Steam app, not the website through a browser. I have camera totally disallowed except on request for obvious reasons. I dislike applications that try to use things like camera, when there's no reason... That's pretty fishy. Unless you have excellent security, I'd suggest not starting this video...

It's strange. I watch a lot of YouTube and I've never had that happen. I haven't seen that type of shenanigans for years, since the windows camera breaches.
