Can you upgrade walls?
I'm just wondering - starting off with a huge wood house, can you upgrade your walls or do you have to rebuild it step by step with supports, so it doesn't collaps?

You can replace a wall with a window or door without tearing it down. To replace a wall with a different type of wall (or a window with a different type of window, etc.), you have to demolish and rebuild.

You pretty much have to tear down and rebuild, but this is pretty easy. Just don't do it in winter or your settlers will freeze! (Conversely, don't mod the cold cellar in the heat of summer.) My main building has clay walls, but I am gradually surrounding it with additional rooms with limestone walls and battlements. Sort of like one of those nice little houses that, if you were to tear into it, you'd find there was a house trailer at the core that has been added on to until it's been completely built over and around. Dang, now I'm homesick. :-)

Being able to upgrade walls in place would be a very nice feature...

Yes! I want to replace that wooden wall with limestone, but it has a beam attached to it. Remove the wall, removes the beam, mind you heads!
