Steam Cloud Save Error? What the bloody Hell?
It just started doing this. WTF? I verified over 2,000 game files and that's not the problem. My progress gets saved, but WTF?

Could this possibly be a bandwidth problem on my end? I moved recently, and my new landlord is not very tech-savvy, doesn't see the value in broadband that's actually broad. I'm considering paying her the difference to upgrade.
Steam cloud save may correct it`s self it is associated with the Game`s User Profile save file , if the User Profile save gets corrupted the game will not start and some end up back at level 0 , or start the game again , i keep manual saves for this reason.
Go to control panel , appearance and personalization, show hiden files and folders , a dialog box opens up put a tick in Show hidden files folders and drives, apply
Then find PCprofile saves folder on this path
C:\ \Users \ your name \AppData \ Local \Sniper Elite 5 \ PC_ProfileSaves \Folder with long number
open Folder with long number then you see , i just save all file in the Use Profile folder files and copy&paste to a folder on desktop.
slot0 is the profile
slot1 is the profile backup

slot0 is the profile
slot1 is the profile backup
slot3-5 are campaign auto saves
slot6-29 are campaign manual saves
slot30 is a campaign quick save

I guess that means I'm perma-screwed, then. Whatever corruption occurred happened long ago, and is being revived every time I play. I can think of one way to fix it, but it's a kind of scorched earth approach: Turn off cloud saves, delete entire profile and history, and start again from scratch, like I had just played the game for the very first time. Everything would be wiped out, all progress.

I'll keep an eye out for it, but I'm currently beginning to replay Metro: Last Light Redux (I tried Metro 2033 Redux, but none of my gawdamned guns would work).

First just try right clicking on the slot 0.sav and chose restore to previous version , there are other ways, will post later.

Never mind. Last Light was a bust, too, with a fatal bug dumping you from the middle of the game to a raging never-ending battle at the end. The game is gawdamned perma-broken.

If you have an Anti Virus try disabling it and reinstall the game , some times the games exe file has to be added to the Anti Virus exemption or white list, i did not fully understand what is happening to your games.

Webroot is NOT f***ing my games. I've been using them for THIRTEEN YEARS without any such problems.

This has been happening on most Steam games that I play; how old the game is seems to be immaterial. It's the godd- oops! -gawdamned Steam client networking with the Steam servers; it's screwed. Webroot has NEVER messed with any game that I play (those other idiot antivirus companies' incompetence is why I'm a Webroot customer. Point of fact: MODECUSA, an internationally consulting IT firm, uses Webroot to protect their digital corporate infrastructure).

Having the same situation. I opted for not play for a while and see if Steam fixes this.:steamfacepalm:
