BUG NO CROSSHAIR SNIPER ELITE 5 PC
Hello, I have a bug that I had already solved a while ago. I can barely see the line of sight, it looks like it's really blurred. I can see it there but it's so faint it's unplayable. I've looked in several forums on both steam and reddit, I've tried everything and it didn't work. The problem is that I played this game before with a friend a few months ago and had the same bug, I managed to fix it but I don't remember how. I've read that it could be the VRAM (but it doesn't make sense if I've managed to solve it before on this same pc) or lowering the rendering scale and doing all this changing the graphics quality of the game but nothing solve it. I tried changing the scope but still nothing. I even changed weapons because I already have some released because I played before. I don't have dlc so there is no dlc folder to delete. I hope you can help me without having to buy another video card or pc.

I recorded it as a cell phone because it is better to see.

(forgive me the spelling errors, I'm Brazilian and I'm using the translator.)

Hey there. The instance of crosshairs not appearing correctly is the result of having a system that doesn't meet the recommended specifications for the game. Please refer to our recommended and preferred specs on the store page for further clarification.

How can this NOT be an easy fix for a programmer?

There is nothing to fix, there is no problem.

something as simple as a crosshair that possibly is just a PNG shouldnt be a significant challenge to render

There is no challenge, it works perfectly fine if your PC meets the required specs.

The only people having problems are the ones that are using PCs that don't meet the required specs.

i can't see the aim line on scope
I have no problems game runs great on my machine. And my pc is over 6 years old.
While the Developers, and others in here are being very rude and dismissive about it, they are correct in that this is caused by not having enough GPU VRAM. If you have less than 4gb the game basically runs out of VRAM to render stuff, and it just so happens that the scope crosshair is one of the LAST things the game renders, so it's pretty much guaranteed to not show up if you have less than 4gb.

I could be wrong but as far as I'm aware there is no fix for this aside from getting a newer/better GPU. Sorry.

@Tryrose You are wrong in the assumption that the problem is caused by NOT ENOUGH VRAM. The problem can manifest itself even on high-end GPUs and is generally fixed by moving GPU settings to either higher or lower position, there is no actual set fix. In my case I got the crosshairs back at high settings, which required MORE VRAM.

That is true yes, I was a little rash in giving a full-stop answer, but the problem can also be not enough VRAM. I had a friend that had only 2GB VRAM, he tried varying a bunch of settings as you and others have said to no avail, and even on the lowest of of all settings he still saw no crosshair. This is pretty broadly reported as well if you search it.

Hi all. hope you are all OK:steamthumbsup: Solution is simple,,really.
I have 2 monitors; 1x 1680x 1050; 2nd monitor starts at 1980. I currently have them set up so that the main monitor, 1680 x 1050, is No1 and 2nd Monitor, 1980 x 1024, is my no2 monitor both linked to each other. Now, in SH5, I had set my graphics to ULTRA. Thus, telescopic sightes CEASED to appear. I therefore lowered the graphics settings to HIGH.

Result, sites now show perfectly. Have a good day.
