there are literally people who i have played with several times who absolutely refuse to use the sniper as anything other than a stick with a knife attached to it

kinda ruins the whole sniper vs sniper experience imo

I know I'm a Canadian Veteran, but the thing is your playing a WW2 game not Modern warfare, big difference in the weapons and their capabilities.

in ww1 they already had snipers capable of killing over 1km, ww1 longest sniper kill is even farther than the ww2 one, 1250m vs 1100m (googled it didnt check further)
in fact...the sniper with the longest effective range is the m1903, the ww1 sniper (in SE5 i mean) so the differences in capabilities dont really matter for the sake of his argument


but yeah i dont think ww2 snipers would run around in open fields with their machine guns out blasting at everything that moves, pretty sure snipers in ww2 would find an advantageous spot and use their sniper...right? as a canadian veteran surely youre aware of how a sniper would fullfill his function, and its not running towards the enemy guns blazing...right? modern warfare, ww2, in either cases id assume this to be true

Your mistake is playing with other people. Other people are [CENSORED/DELETED]. You don't have this problem playing solo. I've been playing video games since 1978, and in my experienced opinion, multiplayer is the worst thing to happen to gaming.

Ah, you're writing about the multiplayer. Well that will probably be similar to the old Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 multiplayer. Many noobs who only know the Counterstrike and Call of Duty multiplayer games from Youtube videos, but can't buy them themselves because they can't afford them, then play Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 multiplayer - after every sale comes a new wave of noobs - who don't have the slightest idea about the game and the game mechanics because they've never played the single player. And who also don't know, for example, that you have to get down on your knees because the sniper rifle wobbles too much when you're standing... But that way they never hit anyone, and then they have to wait so long until they spot someone through the scope. In this day and age where their attention is exhausted after a 30 second video... No no, they'd rather run to the other side with the pistol like a madman and try to play Counterstrike for the poor. It's probably the same with Sniper Elite. Too bad.
