I tend to agree, would like to see a good VR mode in the game but wouldn't download a third party software to get it, seems too risky. And given the number of issues inherently with the game itself, this might be a formula for disaster when it comes to gaming issues and bugs. You'd need support for it too, not sure you'd get it from the third party, at least not adequately.
