Does anyone actually use the Mosin-Nagant?

Really don't see any use for it honestly. I have played with this rifle through every mission in the game, DLC included and even all the maps in Survival. It can't one shot anything without the use Soft Point ammo and when combining that with an Extended Barrel, the max hit point damage is about 194+ (not exactly sure). Sure, that's enough to take down a standard infantryman but not a jaeger as it would require two shots with that ammo type. It has a long time to aim and reload and this wouldn't be a problem given the Springfield also suffers from this well but the A1 Optical sight gives it an edge for long distance precision sniping to make up for that. The Mosin doesn't have an A1 optical or any scope for long range to aid in that nor is it made for a fast/aggressive style sniping that the M1A cabine, Lee Einfield, and RSC is known for with their mobility and fire rate stats being better than the Mosin.

So if it's not made for an aggressive style of sniping like the rifles mentioned before, and it's not a long shot killer like the M.1903/Kar98k are, then what is the point of this rifle being in the game? I've heard from others that it's meant to be a middle ground between the power types and the speed type rifles but it doesn't specialize in anything nor has anything that make it stand out. It has "Minimal Bullet Drop" as it's pro but this makes no sense to boast to the player , given the m1903 can do exactly that and it does it better.

Going back to my question, is there anyone who frequently uses the rifle? What are your thoughts on it and how does it compare to the rifles you were using before?

On the authentic difficulty of Survival Mode, I tried to sacrifice stability for damage and rate of fire. (Because stability can also be supplemented by holding your breath.)

I choose the 5x scope. The aiming speed of the 6x scope is too slow.

Although the 3x scope has better stability and rate of fire, when used to shoot enemies within 100M, the reload speed of Mosin is too slow, and it will be difficult to face 2~5 enemies. Enemies over 150M are not suitable for 3x scopes.

They should add a 4x scope with good visibility and fast aiming speed.

It's no better than the Lee No.4 I was using before. Although Mosin's lethality has improved a little, he has not performed well in other aspects.

Mosin can also be used in the campaign.

Because campaigns take into account the strategies and personal styles players use. Sneaking, frontal breakthrough, and fighting against invaders are all different in the configuration of weapons and the choice of clothing. So there is no certain standard for which sniper rifle is good.

But survival has to face a large number of enemies, so shooting speed is the primary consideration. Like win&co, I don't recommend using it in the survival mode of authentic difficulty.

im not sure what your issue is exactly, but with this rifle i am not having any issues taking down Nazis in one shot even with helmet on using standard bullets at 400m away

I used it to get the medal. For me I will revert back to the K98.

You mean other than they suck at playing, and or they saw some post or a video and are just parroting what others have said. Most can't think for themselves these days so whatever posts or videos they see, they just repeat them.

I haven't either, I use the Mosin, Enfield, Springfield, and the K98K, doesn't really matter that much what rifle I use.

Most of the posts on the Steam forums are joke and put up by posers.

Can't take almost all of them seriously at all.

Maybe if they actually put some time and real effort into the game learning etc they might get better at it.

Just like SE4, if they can't just run around in circles with a MG or a semi-auto and spray rounds all over the place they don't have a clue. In other words they just plain suck.

The real issue is the developers are catering to the crap run and gunners and PVP garbage.

And it's killing the games in the end.
