Newest Nvida driver gives Higher CPU Temp than before
After installing the latest Nvidia driver ..the Temperature of my CPU ( I9 12900K ) is almost reaching 90 degrees Celsius… Gone back a few month’s in updated drivers and now the Temp is back to normal around 50 degrees C.. Playing al this in Ultra settings and have around 120 to even 144 FPS
So updating is not always a good thing.. but the problem is .. as we report problems with this game the first advice is to update the Video driver… So.. That is not the solution … These thing are still not compatible with each other.
Nvidia updates .. so Rebellion must update to and then Microsoft has an update en Nvidia and Rebellion must update to.. And then rebellion has an update and then .. ????
Is there a recommended Driver version for Sniper elite on which it will run without any flaws ?????

Ok another add to this temperature thingy... Older Nvidia driver and back to normal ... but to test i set everything to medium.. just out of curiosity .. and my temperature went up with 10 degrees Celsius.. thus putting the setting back to all Ultra and my CPU temp lower back with 10 degrees Celsius.. Can anyone enlighten my why this happens… Ultra giving lower CPU temp…no other setting or changes to the entire system…

Hi. I am not sure what you mean by the driver giving you higher CPU temps exactly since the driver doesn't affect your CPU directly, but the behavior you're describing sounds normal because lower graphics settings means higher framerates, and higher framerates means more for your CPU to calculate. It's possible that the latest drivers use more out of your GPU, so if you run the game uncapped you'll see higher CPU temps in return. If you want to reduce your temperatures you can cap your framerate, create a GPU bottleneck, lower the power limit, invest/increase the cooling solutions etc.

With the same serttings and thus an older Nvidia driver, CPU temperature is much lower.. Driver is offcourse not affecting CPU .but the temp on the CPU is..... no FPS change .. After this .. I changed from medium to Ultra several times, then the temperature was lowered again as described. Ultra gives a lower CPU temp with again No significant FPS change.. .. But thanks for your reaction .. Running Vulkan or Dx12 is also affecting CPU temperature .. thus I will do some testing ..

CPU temps can fluctuate between driver updates by the example I mentioned earlier, but having a 30-40c increase in CPU temperature after a geforce update with the same settings and framerates seems very strange to me. Are any of the nvcontainer's, or Nvidia's services, running with high CPU usage? The two recent issues I can think of was a bug with one of their nvcontainer for telemetry having abnormal activity causing high cpu usage, and another was an issue with hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows causing spikes in the CPU usage. Try to completely clean install the latest driver using DDU, display driver uninstaller in safe mode, and see if the issue still occurs.

Ok.. problem solved.... the I9 12900K had something of a "Bottleneck" so bought an I9 13900K.. now running max 55 Degrees Celsius again with Ultra setting on all, 4K 3840x1600 . but with an older driver still.

does capping the frame rate to 60fps in the nvidia control panel help?

Was this an advice or question?... for me capping the framerate was doing nothing... downgrading from ultra to High or mediium even gave my a higher temp.. Now... another proccesor and back to max 55 degrees celsius max.. ................Where it went wrong????????? I dont know!! many things.. garbled drivers , I really do not know/

CPU is theComputer Processing Unit, not video / graphics. Do you mean Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)?
