I have to say, I no longer play as Karl anymore, I always select Marie instead.
She speaks much less than Karl (I think that's a good thing to be honest) but when she does, it's usually something funny in half French, half English.

It's a pity that in-game cutscenes, even ones without dialogues, are hard-wired with Karl as the main character.

On the other hand, you can get Marie twins at least in the loadout screen and in the Loose Ends mission 😁

OK I like battle-scarred and fit honeys as much as you all, but honestly I haven't found any really compelling reasons to switch from Karl. Still using his character, and I like his voice unlike others who may not.

I understand. I played all of SE4 with Karl only and it felt perfectly fine and I enjoyed it very much.
But with SE5 I was experimenting a bit more with other characters and Marie grew on me for some reason. It's not that I hate Karl or his voice, I've just played with Marie's character for so many hours that it would now feel weird to switch I guess.
Also, since Marie is rather quiet most of the time, Karl feels extremely talkative (and repetitive) in comparison and I just got used to the silence 😁

Preferred her incarnation in ZA4, and I'd prefer a Nazi defector "frau" to her... However, she is the "cutest" of the cast.

Far more interesting.

Karl is the most generic 1 dimensional character — and his voice is incredibly cheesy.

Why could we not have an English accent. Would be far better….

It just annoys me that you have to complete every mission with Karl before you can choose a different character. You should be able choose what character you want from the start!

I'm surprised some troll hasn't trotted out some bait regarding the authenticity of Marie's Scottish accent. I think maybe Marie could have had a bit more pepper when first meeting Karl, resistant to enlisting the aid of a "stupid American" who will probably just get good resistance members killed.
