Is level 40 the highest level...?
Seems level 40 is the highest level in this game..?

I have been playing quite a bit but after 40 I have not gained any more levels. Nothing. No progress bar is shown like in SE4 and SE3. The new points tally and leveling in this game is stinks. I like the old way better. So level 40 must be the cap for this game...?

Yes 40 is currently the cap for the game, which is sad because I hit max level not even half way through the campaign. Multiplayer level is separate and goes up to 50.

Thanks. Takes away incentive to keep playing. I myself really liked gaining levels. I also really miss shotguns. Can't understand why they cut them all out of the game. Gone back to playing SE4 not just for the higher difficulty, but I like the gold plated shotguns, and the sniping difficulty is much harder in SE4.

I hear you on the shotguns, I was bummed when I saw they didn't add those either. Knowing how Rebellion seems to be operating nowadays maybe we'll receive them in the form of $15 DLC. (Seperate from the Season pass like one of the pistols are)

Yes it does take away any incentive to keep playing it.

But with the cheaters in SE4 flooding the leader boards.

Look at the 1st like 45K to 50K on the leadboards.

NONE of them actually are 250's... NONE OF THEM.....

You can tell by their stats...

And Rebellion did NOTHING ABOUT IT AT ALL>

So we lose the leader boards in SE5.

I went back to playing SE4 personally.

Yeah. No more incentive to replay. Gaining levels made me want to keep playing. But I also miss how hard it was to snipe over 100m. In SE5, a 400m shot is as easy as a 20m shot...hardly a trace of wind in the entire game. Nothing. And the scope glint in multiplayer is so utterly overdone, I lost interest in playing. I mean, THAT is what your binoculars are suposed to be for. And scope glint should depend on how you are positioned, so that people have to actually HUNT for your location with their binoculars. As is, the game is a bore and a chore. You just end up sitting in place until you see scope glint. They should call the multiplayer 'Glint--shooting'. As is, it sucky. Survival can be fun, but what's the point of playing any longer if they cap the game at 40..? No point. And Karl's superman vision in Invasion is utterly against the whole experiencing of having to hunt down Karl. There should be an option to shut the super-vision OFF....entirely. And MOST of us would do just that. In SE4, I always had PLENTY of reason to keep playing because I could always make it a goal to earn another gold skin. Now I have no more goals. And the achievements in SE5 are a JOKE. The global Achievement success is already fully past 2%. The hardest achievements should ALWAYS be no more than 0.,9 %. So the game is quite easy. And the lack of tough Achievements, again, removes any reason for me to keep playing. No challenge = No purpose or reason to replay. I don't understand this. I, too, have been going back to playing SE4. It may not look as pretty, but playing the Monestary mission just never gets old, and, even now, every playthrough can still be unexpectedly tough. Shame SE5 is so watered down and joke easy.

I've been using the D.L. Carbine just to give myself a challenge at longer range engagements since I wholeheartedly agree that there seems to be hardly any wind in the game, I'm assuming its due to the attachments system and having anything above 300 velocity really makes sniping trivial but when you use something with less velocity you'll notice the wind a lot more.

I also agree with the scope glint, they really added it sloppily in and could of fletched it out to be more aligned with a game about sniping by rewarding people for sniping deep in a building to avoid the glint or make sure your positioned away from a light source that would cause you to glint. Even in the dead of night you get a horrible glint like you have a searchlight inside your scope.

Play on Authentic and you'll have a challenge since you don't have access to your "focus" ability anymore making you have to use phones to pinpoint the location of the Invader.

Personally my favorite mission in SE5 is mission 2 "Occupied Residence" both for invading and playing as Karl. Wish you could choose what difficulty you invade even if it meant waiting longer to find a match.

I jumped right in at Authentic mode and first playthrough already had 'Better than the Best'. I could never have done this in SE4. I agree on the glint exactly. It should depend on how you position yourself. As is, it ruins the entire experience and offers me zero incentive to play. I have no interest in glint-shooting game play. People, as is, sit in place, wait for some glint, and whoever has the most perks unlocked likely wins the match. No real skill or fun to be found in positioning yourself in all that nice debris because it just doesn't work as is. You are forced to just take up stupid positions and hope for some glint and beat the other guy to the shot. Boring. Now, IF, instead, we each had to use our binoculars to actually TRY an 'locate' a well positioned sniper, THAT...would be pretty fun. But as is, the game is a bore and, for lack of a better word : Stupid. The Survival can be pretty fun, but again, why bother to keep playing when I am no longer earning any points to increase my level, or earn any more gold skins for my weapons. This is a major let down for me. Additionally, I don't care for how many times 'Karl' gets to use the phone. I have some guys using the phone over and over and over again....like a broken record. It gets old real fast, and it is unrealistic. And if I am playing as invader, 'how' would a phone reveal where 'Karl' if 'Karl' is a good player and has not been seen...? So this makes no sense, and likewise takes away from me wanting to play as 'Karl' vs: an invader who, again, uses the phone repeatedly. If I, as Karl, don't make any noise, don't leave any bodies, etc, then the person invading me should NOT be able to locate me with a phone call....at ALL. Another odd thing is this : the AI will all of a sudden place an enemy right behind your back when a micro second before hand, he was quite a distance away from you. It is impossible that this guy could cover that much ground that fast...yet the AI places him there so that you are spotted while in between another enemy. I have encountered this quite a few times now. This type of thing NEVER occurred in SE4. SE4 was truly the high point of the series in terms of an experience. But I guess that is just the way of things. Water everything down to the point that even the sh--ittiest player can feel like a superstar.
