How to play with a PS5 or PS4 controller on Steam

Hey all,

I wanted to put this out in case anyone is having a similar problem and my way to fix it.

Problem:
I'm not sure what causes it but for whatever reason I have never been able to play with a PS4 or PS5 controller on steam. It doesn't even seem to detect that a controller is plugged in even though the controller works for other games via steam.

Answer:
The best way I have found to get around this, without buying an Xbox controller, is to use the Program "DS4". This program masks your controller to make the game think that it is a Xbox controller. Whenever I do that it seems to work perfectly fine but the only caveat is that the button prompts on screen are going to be Xbox button prompts. My recommendation though is to edit the controls to make the touch-pad do nothing as the default is to fire your gun for some reason.

I hope this helps anyone who was having similar problems. If you found an alternative solution, please post it so it can help others.

I plugged mine in and it works, I switch between a PS and a Xbox controller because not all games support both.
