x16 scopes weren't really that available until what, 2010? 2015?
sorry Wrong, Realism is Important. Not doing that everyone feels it is easy (well this Game is). OK never going to be 100% to the Heroes who lost their lives, But some difficulty would make the Game better. Even Authentic is Pathetic.
As much as I love the SE Franchise, 5 is so easy, lacking and skill. (Campaign). Have no time for the Cheat Ridden PvP.
Yesterday on Occupied Residence, was seeing how many can get killed by Melee, You would be surprised if you have Patience. ( My Favourite Map). On that SE5 for playabilty is Low. Playing on Authentic, is a Joke and still easy. NO ZOOM? not authentic. a let down. Authentic is a Days Play, yet they have the nerve to charge for the 1 Mission DLC !!.
Now I am a Local Fan of the Franchise, But in all Honesty, the Game is worth £10, DLC's £3 or free.
On that i have been playing these sort of Games, Before the Developers were Born!! let alone the Players. Games need some form of Reality, it will never be the same as the Heroes who fought, but lets respect their struggles.
Sniper elite 4 was way better in my opinion, regardless if it was realistic or not. Every weapon in 4 was authentic, had it's own weapon sound, wind affection, etc. Even the maps in SE 4 are better. In SE 5 everything feels meh, dull. Sprinting for example is awful in SE 5, instant stand, run, stuck in walls. So many small details need fixing, devs really missed the core in this one.. The game is still decent, but can't compete with SE 4...
"real"... please...real gets really boring in SE5, and
A partial list of SE5's not-real:
- Saving game. What, you're not REALly dead? How is that possible?
- carrying/running/sprinting/hiding with 4 weapons, 3 Teller mines, 2 satchel charges, 3 grenades, medical supplies, 3 personal mines, 3 decoys, 3 TNT, and full loads of 3 types of ammunition for all those weapons...oh, and carry a dead body on top of all of that.
- getting shot, bleeding out, and poof, you're in perfect health again.
- hearing speech through a binoculars - let me repeat that - HEARING SPEECH THROUGH BINOCULARS!
- simple wooden doors that cannot be breached even by a Panzerfaust, and once opened, cannot be closed.
Well, you get the idea. I think it's a game, and it should be more fun than accurate, and this game needs some fun, so bring on the "unreal" weapons!
IIRC x10 was latest tech at the end of WW2 and wasn't even practically applied. Mostly x6 or x8
Gosh I miss the thunderous sound of the swedish mauser in SE 4...
What did u expect the rifle to sound like? pew pew pew or ratatatatatatata
There's only one sound for firing all rifles and the only different sounds they make in game is the sound of recoil, the type of the rifle (semi, full auto or bolt-action), the casing ejecting sound and reloading sound.
You obviously have no clue how Sniper Elite franchise works and it has come a long way.
Regardless what people think about SE5, rifles in each titles are pretty much dead on accurate and kept as real as possible. The rest which we called "game" is the territory of "creative expression" on how devs wanted the users to experience WW2 stories the most ideal way they can come up with
