Good find, I also missed this, however I just tried it and it did not work for me unfortuantely. In fact I can't destroy the pump northwest because the objective won't trigger properly. I always get stuck on either pump and it doesn't matter what order I try them in. I think I will wait for a patch since I've already spent 6 hours on this map, and it's getting quite frustrating since I'm literally stuck and can't continue the game. One misstep and the entire playthrough is FUBAR due to the bugs.
If a player had to do things in a very precise order and enter at very precise locations, the mission should inform of us that. Either that, or the things like the dang Furnace should blow up no matter which way we enter from.
Frustrating beyond being fun anymore.
(my ultimately successful path went south from the start and looped counter-clockwise. Manual save when entering objective area. When a conversation triggered, I would approach and hunker down until it finished. After the objective was completed and the next one triggered, I would create another manual save. If something went wrong, I would reload the autosaves first, before reverting to one of the manual saves if the autosaves seemed to be bugged. I also incapacitated or killed everyone, as sometimes alerted enemies never stop "searching" and seem to break scripting for themselves and others (if they are stuck in the way of another NPC). It took a very long time.)
Question: Since this mission is so obviously broken, HOW did it get past testing? Or was there NO testing?
As far as bugs and glitches go, games have come a long long way from when I started playing (40 years ago) they are incredibly huge and have a ridiculous amount of detail which is still absolutely amazing to me, I truly appreciate all the work that goes into making any game. But I think teams like rebellion that (probably) employ a few hundred people could beta test a game of this size for 2 years and still not find the glitches that a few million players will find in a day or two :)
Zeph is correct that sometimes launch dates (especially when a new game is bundled with a console launch or new GPU) means games can be released with known issues that will become a priority. A lot of people are getting through the mission, and probably it did not show up before release, so it might need some kind of investigating to find out just why some of us cannot progress, or some guaranteed alternative needs adding (maybe blow up the smelter using the panzerfaust in the armoury/ ammo room). I still enjoy SE especially 4 and have been a fan since the first SE came out. I'll still buy SE6 pre-order and hope it is more long shots and sniper focused.
Having seen a lot of great game developers disappear over the years, (Bullfrog why did you disappear before Dungeon Keeper 3 :( ) I will still continue to buy games from smaller companies to support a series even if it has a new direction or glitches.
