Sniper Elite 5

Sniper Elite 5

Vezi statistici:
Rebellion hasn't removed Denuvo in any of their games, even though they've all been pirated
Denuvo has yet to be removed for any of Rebellion's games even though they've all been bypassed by pirates for many years. Not advocating for piracy. Just stating a fact. Denuvo potentially turns your purchase into a rental. Why should I believe it'll be removed eventually in Sniper Elite 5 if they didn't remove it in Sniper Elite 4 or Zombie Army 4 and now it only affects their paying customers?

Ohh denuvo... meaning a lost sale. Used to love the series and most rebellion games... at least until their drm started to fuzz out meaning me as a paying customer got an sub-pair game experience over an pirate who paid nothing. Now it's an simple no touch.

Are they trying to encourage peeps to join the "dark side"?
That whole list is hilarious. They make the argument that it's not needed since games are cracked within a few weeks but then claim that games will be made unplayable in the event they go out of business. Good thing they were cracked right away then?

You really don't see the irony with paying customers having to resort to piracy?

cool story, left you a poetry award for the effort. You must be fun to hang around.
I actually am and you're welcome to do so anytime! Thank you for the award! :happyotus:

That said, if you're coming to a thread about business practices expecting to have fun, then you may have unrealistic expectations. :clickbutton:

If customers have to rely on pirate's cracks, why should customers even continue to buy these games? Rebellion has already demonstrated that they can't be trusted to remove it after it's literally useless. Take a look at what happened to games that used SecuROM, which was created by the same people behind Denuvo. Some games got DRM removals. Not all.
Denuvo does nothing except lower the performance in games and these idiot game companies keep paying for it....I have admittedly bought Rebellion games before, I think I am done at this point. I don't need this game and won't support companies who use Denuvo any longer.

It's extremely frustrating to see this on the front page of Steam as a top seller. I would have gladly bought it full price WITH Denuvo if Rebellion gave us a reason to believe that I shouldn't treat this like a rental.

As it stands, Denuvo remains in all their games even though they've all been pirated.

The performance hit in games is almost always completely imperceptible, meaning you'd never even know it unless you were shown benchmarks. And in the vast majority of cases, there's no impact at all.

And more importantly, clearly Denuvo is doing something that publishers like, because more and more of them are using it. They wouldn't use it if it didn't work. So claiming that "it does nothing but hurt performance" is just objectively false. You think that randos on the internet know more about a business's bottom line than the business itself? Totally laughable.

The only valid criticism against Denuvo is the activation limitations. Eventually their servers will go down, maybe years and years in the future, but eventually they will. And then games that still have it will become unplayable. That's a genuine downside, and really that's all anyone should be talking about when talking about Denuvo.

I am surprised they still use Denuvo on their games that have been cracked. That is an expensive license fee to be paying to use Denuvo every year that hasn't even protected those cracked games.

Yep cracked since 2017-2018, still in the game.

I would not trust anything from Rebellion. This is a true fact, they tried to SUE another studio because one of its video games dlc's had the word "Rebellion" in its name. Just look it up online, not hard to find. These guys are crazy greedy and will do anything to collect information and god knows what to scrape more cash out of its consumers.

Those brand name cases for using certain words in a name are far more common than you'd thank as other developers and publishers have levied lawsuits like that. However they're far less common in the game industry when compared to the ♥♥♥♥ you see big corporations doing to protect their brands.
