I know I did not got Doom Eternal untill denuvo was removed and I will not buy this game to anyone untill denuvo is removed.....
Just want to make a correction, denuvo was never removed from Eternal.
A lot of people including the OP confuse denuvo anti-tamper with denuvo anti-cheat, they are completely different processes, Eternal still has anti-tamper (.exe protection) but removed the anti-cheat (kernel driver)
Both are bad for multiple reasons and I don't want either in my games.
Thanks on correction, but when I was installing Doom Eternal (after they said it was removed) I had no questions on extra installing. Would not then Sniper Elite 5 also asking about installing denuvo. Or it is only once installing it. I do not want it in my games but then it turns out that I had it on for long time and that I was not aware of it, no matter I checked on list of programs....
I read this internet cliché nonsense and I think of some kid in a playground with nothing better to do and no experience of life...
Good boy, now go home for your pancakes...
Denuvo anti-tamper is not something you install on your PC, its a bunch of code in the game executable that checks game ownership by communicating with denuvo servers, a "token" gets generated on your PC and can play the game offline if you wish for a couple of days, after that you need to connect to the internet again at least once for another "token" to be given to you, if you have no internet, or denuvo servers are offline you will get an error message telling you, you cant play the game.
You will not never be asked if you want to install it, the checks will happen regardless whether you want it or not.
Denuvo anti-cheat on the other hand needs to be installed as a program, its like easyanticheat etc, it needs special permissions to install because it installs some services on your PC to check what other programs you are running while gaming.
Because while I am often on the internet now almost always still there are situations when people are not able to connect on the net.....
If they remove it then yeah you can, the normal steam drm is very simple, as long as you have downloaded the game and have logged in once to your steam account you can play your games offline.
