For example, if you put Defense matrix on top, and then black hole underneath it (or vice versa), then you will get a very large defense matrix that nearly covers the entire screen.
Some powers can be activated twice for their effects to work. In the case of Black hole and Mortar, releasing the power, and then activating it again before it comes into contact with anything and disappears will cause it to stay in the air, and then spew down a bunch of fireballs from the black hole for a couple of seconds before exploding.
Zen Mortar Fusions will have an additional effect if you press the Power button again while the projectile is active, similar to Zen Mortar itself.
Crystal Wave Fusions typically have low damage, but freeze enemies they hit.
Aiming Gear Fusions can be aimed in 8 directions.
Rending Whirl Fusions typically have an effect which persists, like a lingering projectile or debuff.
Crushing Void Fusions typically have very high energy costs, but either have very high damage or a very high area of effect. (Often both!)
Negation Pulse Fusions have defensive effects, usually involving clearing projectiles.
Jagged Bolt Fusions typically home in on enemies.
Autodrone Fusions are based on the enemies of the stage that the other Power is from.
