A lot of people don't like 20XX's graphics, specifically the animations for feeling "too flash like", which is a fair criticism, imo.
I like both art styles, though am biased towards the animations moving to traditional sprites (way easier for fans to mod and change) as someone who likes doing sprite art as a hobby myself.
Either way, art is art. And art is subjective.
Like it or not, the aesthetic of the 32-bit era is a huge part of the appeal to the Megaman fandom; the in-between where 2D sprites were still largely utilized but were extremely high quality before the swap to 3D happened and everything went to ♥♥♥♥. When many people think of MegaMan X, they think of X4 and X5 (and X6, but then they also usually cringe). That's what 30XX is emulating.
Same reason that Gunvolt replicates the style of the GBA era. It's trying to be a homage to MegaMan Zero and that aesthetic is a huge part of it.
If you don't like it, fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion, but you're in the minority and spamming the devs about your dislike of something that most people will prefer isn't going to make them capitulate, it's just going to make you look like a ♥♥♥♥.
Absolutely not diggin that strange cartoony flashgame-aetheti, that's for sure.
I think you're in the wrong place.
i find the Retro 32-bit pixel art Really Fateful to the mmx 4-6 Time line , and as there are some Bloody Epic Pixel artist's ,i really hope 30xx will be as moddable as it look's, Imagine People Get to add there custom useable character's and custom Boss's, that be epic if that can be done, but if they can Make Custom assist's for the game, then it will Only add to the Life Span of 30xx by a Really Large level, tbh, kinda Hope 30xx will get the chance to be the Skyrim in term's of modability, o welp, can only wait for tonight/tomorrow to see How the EA has Progressed, but in the End i can Understand if People are unhappy with the Sprite's art is subjective after all, to me i think BOTH 20xx and 30xx style's are art,
Here the thing there people who really like the New art and don't like the old one
and there people like you who hate the new one and Love the old style
I think it age thing, I grow up with pixel art games so I LOVE the new style
but I can see what 2000's kids will hate it !
And there people who hate both and people who like both, I didn;t like the art in 20XX but loved the gamestyle so I think you shuld do the same with this one and ignor the artsyle if you can.
Personally the old artwork turned me down, I prefer 30XX's sprites over 20XX's adobe flash style.
