Broken Game Mechanics?

I'll be attacking someone and then the guy will randomly attack backwards or I'll want to attack someone behind me and the guy will continue attacking forward what's up with this crap?

I am experiencing the same. The main character keeps turning back automatically. It is very frustrating.

I never had this issue and I beat the game when I got it off the bundle. Just make sure your cursor isn't pointing the opposite way. And if you use the machetes, don't keep clicking Mouse1 otherwise you'll attack forward and backward (part of a combo attack).

The game isn't broken genius. Your attacks aim in the direction of your mouse cursor location. They designed it this way because it is required to aim the game's guns and knives and stuff, and they were too lazy to separate it from the melee attack. It's a lame design decision, but it's not broken.

Well unless theres a way to disable the mouse then it kinda is since you can use your keyboard for all the controls why they'd think using the mouse for direction is questionable

You can change the keybindings to however you see fit. I just finished my playthrough without using the mouse.

The last level has this part using a turret and oh my gosh, that was incredibly difficult! I spent like an hour trying to beat it, and the final boss was a cakewalk compared to the number of times I had to replay that part! You can get by the rest of the game no problem using just the keyboard, but I recommend temporarily switching to mouse during that part just so you can aim the darn thing.

Either that, or use a gamepad. Gamepads are awesome.
